Project Aim
To stimulate the adoption of lean manufacturing techniques within small and medium sized
organisations (SMEs) through the use of technology.
Key Partners
Virtual College, as project managers, are working with a number of partners within the West Yorkshire region.
Current Status
Over 160 people are being trained in Lean Manufacturing principles,
from 5S workplace organisation to Kaizen. 19 West Yorkshire companies
from all areas of manufacturing are reaping the benefits of training
directly targeted at improving their productivity. They also benefit
from being able to benchmark their existing practices against
‘Lean principles’ and are helped to develop a structured workforce
development plan.
