LO52c - Flexible Working

LO52c - Flexible Working

Overview - LO52c - Flexible Working

This course is provided by Learning4Business. Having completed this course you should be able to advise others on their rights and benefits in relation to flexible working.

Having achieved the learning outcomes you will be able to ensure that the policy and procedures of your organisation, and your own attitudes and behaviour, encourage a positive work/life balance by utilising flexible working practices.

This means that, not only will you avoid problems resulting from contravening the Employment Act 2002 but, where you have management responsibility, you will also be perceived as open, enlightened and progressive in your attitudes.

Creating and implementing an effective equal opportunities policy is vital to any employer, large or small. Having the right policy means compliance with the increasingly complex maze of legislation but, more importantly, it indicates an employer who genuinely wishes to treat all its employees fairly, as well as accept appropriate social responsibility.

In addition, flexible working brings many benefits to the organisation, such as enhanced motivation, reduced absenteeism and maximisation of resources.

The course is divided into 9 sections covering the following areas:

  • compulsory maternity leave
  • ordinary maternity leave
  • family issues addressed by flexible working
  • benefits to the organisation
  • legislation covering flexible working
  • eligibility to work flexibly
  • flexible working arrangements
  • introducing flexible working to the organisation
