Overview - Information Sharing Level 2

This course complements the introductory module within our highly success "Integrated Working CAF" course and covers many work based scenarios to help the learner practice their understanding of this very important element of Integrated Working. It also aims to change the perception that information sharing and data security are complex issues by simplifying and clarifying the processes so that the learner feels more confident in understanding what they can share, when they can share it and with whom.

Over four million people in the UK work with Children, young people and families. This module will be useful to all frontline practitioners who deal with children and who will need to share information about cases. The focus of this module is the importance of information sharing, why it is important and who it can affect.

On completion of this module learners will have covered these learning objectives:

  • Understand the importance that information sharing plays in assisting the process for intervening to help children
  • Have an awareness of the legal framework and guidance for information sharing
  • Appreciate the role a practitioner plays in balancing confidentiality issues with the need to share information
  • Be able to state some of the key perceived barriers to good information sharing and how they may be overcome
  • Be able to demonstrate awareness of the Seven Golden Rules of Information Sharing
  • Understand the main issues regarding consent, and under what circumstances information can be shared

Accreditation

The content of this course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines

Certification

On completion of this course you will be able to download a Virtual College certificate.

Duration

Approximately 2 hours. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly you can study and absorb the material. You can proceed as quickly or slowly as you like, and there is no limit on how long you can take to do the course.
