MIS (Management Information Systems) Manager - c£34,000pa (depending on experience)

Optimising access to data and operating efficiencies will be key to capturing the value of the rapidly growing learner base and maximising profitability.
Virtual College plans to evolve a MIS architecture that will allow cross-system workflow and data analysis to provide a single pane of glass reporting environment. A single pain of glass is a management console that presents data from multiple sources in a unified display. The glass, in this case, is a computer monitor or mobile device screen. The MIS will be capable of scaling and evolving as the business grows, both nationally and internationally.

Objectives of the role:
- Critique existing systems and potential new systems to develop recommendations for an integrated suite of core systems and MISs, which maximise automation, optimise reporting and are designed to meet the long term needs of the business and scale accordingly:
o Systems to be capable of supporting growth of Virtual College to 20m learners, in multi-level relationships (corporate/individual).
o Systems capable of supporting multiple products and multiple product variations.
- The role will encompass:
o Assessment of the current systems stack against agreed strategy.
o Development of an MIS development plan, which may include introduction of new systems.
o Working with the company’s development team to implement the MIS development plan.
o Continue to evolve MIS in line with market trends and growth in customer/learner data
- At all times the post holder will bring best practice in data usage and interrogation to bear in contributing to recommendations regarding customer and learner records systems
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior MIS role
- Experience with large customer databases
- SQL server
