Bids/Tenders Executive - Maternity Leave Cover

The Role:

We’re looking for a Bid/ Tenders Executive to cover for maternity leave within our Bids Team. You will have good experience managing more complex bids, particularly in the public sector, taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process, managing an opportunity from qualification through to contract award. You’ll be skilled in developing bid strategies, monitoring the value proposition, writing compelling responses and tailored messaging, along with managing risks and the bid project deadlines. Collaborating with and coordinating a cross-functional bidding team you’ll enjoy working in a busy environment with competing priorities, have strong attention to detail and an ability to keep calm under pressure.

Strong experience in L&D, EdTech or digital solutions markets would be highly advantageous for this role but not essential. There is scope for this role to be based remotely, with travel to our Ilkley offices when required.

We’re an agile, small, friendly, and highly organised team who rely on and support each other. Embedded within the sales team we play a vital part in the generation of new income and clients and work closely with all members of the sales and partnership teams. You’ll lead on a variety of bids and proposal, including more complex opportunities, with the sales and management team.

Experience:

• Proven track record in bid management resulting in successful and profitable new appointments (essential)
• Experience in bidding through public sector (for contract awards, not just frameworks), not for profit and private sector (essential)
• Business development experience and commercial awareness (essential)
• Proven ability to prioritise workloads, manage multiple projects and negotiate deadlines, collaborating with and managing people internally and externally (essential)
• Ability to identify and scope new bid opportunities that fit with company growth strategy and new markets (essential)

Knowledge:

• Knowledge and awareness of educational and learning technology trends and good practice (desirable)
• Knowledge of public sector procurement and compliance (essential)
• Knowledge of sales messaging, positioning and strategies (essential)
• Comfortable working remotely with regular communication through online platforms (essential)
