This course is aimed at any education professional working in an international school who has a responsibility to ensure children are safeguarded from potential abuse or neglect.
If you work in any education setting, whether that is a nursery, school or college, you have a statutory duty to safeguard children, and make sure they are protected from any abuse or neglect. In order to do this, you must be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse and report them to the appropriate authorities.
Our course covers everything you need to know about Safeguarding in Education in the UK, with two extra components, ‘Safer Recruitment in International Schools’ and ‘Best Practice in International Schools’, which cover safeguarding practices in international schools.
The topics you will cover are vast and include the legislation and guidance you need to be aware of, safe working practices in education settings, how to recognise signs and abuse in children, what to do if you have concerns, and more.
We have designed the course to be learner-led. It is broken down into bite-sized chunks, so it can easily be tailored to your needs, time and individual learner journey. We have used different types of media to ensure the learning is engaging and varied, as well as practical, real life examples to help illustrate how it can be applied to your role.
To make sure that our course is based on industry best practice, we have worked with relevant practitioners and independent consultants and mapped the content to the following best practice frameworks:
