Red tape an issue for those with electrical qualifications

People who have taken the time to achieve electrical course qualifications may be being hindered from entering the jobs market at present.

According to Charles Logan, director of recruitment group Hays' UK arm, said there are swathes of red tape and stifling levels of bureaucracy that are holding back the UK's recruitment sector present, although figures are looking slightly up so far this year.

He commented: "Although the private sector is seeing a slight rise in recruitment, its impact in the labour market is being cancelled out by large-scale public sector job losses."

According to figures from the Office for National Statistics, the employment rate for those aged from 16 to 64 for the three months to March 2011 was 70.7 per cent, up 0.2 on the quarter.

Furthermore, the results showed that the number of people in employment aged 16 and over increased by 118,000 on the quarter and by 416,000 on the year to reach 29.24 million.
