New gluten-free guide published by FSA

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has published a new guide to gluten-free foods in the UK for food hygiene professionals and members of the public.

It aims to inform individuals regarding the impact of gluten for those who suffer from an intolerance, as well as including factsheets to assist caterers and food preparers in the delivery of gluten-free produce.

As part of Coeliac Awareness Week (May 16th to 22nd), the FSA has the launched the new pamphlet, which aims to showcase how gluten-free foods can be both delicious, nutritious and fulfilling.

The FSA also recently announced the publication of the agendas for its upcoming meetings that are set to take place in Belfast on May 25th.

It will include discussions on charges for official controls on meat, a proposed reduction in BSE testing, animal cloning for food production and the impacts on the FSA of devolution and of government changes in relation to nutrition.
