3 Cupcake Recipes for Kids

schedule 12th June 2019 by Virtual College in Food and Drink Last updated on 12th June 2019

cupcake recipes for kids

Whether you’re a parent, childminder or teacher, some of the most exciting and rewarding skills that you can teach a child are those that are used in the kitchen. Baking is of course one of the very best introductions, and with that in mind, we bring you three of our favourite cupcake recipes that are perfect for kids.

Before we look at the three recipes, it’s always worth taking a second to think about health and safety in the kitchen. Baking cakes generally doesn’t require any sharp or otherwise dangerous tools, but there is the hot oven and baking tray to think about. In addition, hygiene is always an important consideration. Teach children at an early age to understand why the preparation area needs to be clean and why food often needs to be cooked before eating. If you need a basic overview of food hygiene knowledge, then consider taking the Level 1 Food Hygiene Certificate course here.
