Lord Mawson becomes the first Lord pledged to Save a Life

Andrew Mawson is one of the foremost social entrepreneurs in the UK and now the first Lord who has pledged to save a life.

Andrew was a guest speaker at the national launch of the ‘Prepared to Save a Life’ initiative which took place at the House of Commons on 30 October 2018. The initiative is a culmination of the hard work and dedication of Virtual College’s CEO Rod Knox, the Community Save a Life Scheme and Bolsover District Council. The three joined forces to revolutionise face-to-face first aid training by turning it into a series of e-learning modules and making it free for everyone!

Speaking at the launch, Lord Mawson said “I am particularly interested in innovation and disruptors and how we can use technology for good. The Prepared to Save a Life campaign is not only using technology for good but also turning a problem into an opportunity. The campaign has real practical consequences and is helping to make a difference by saving lives”

Prepared to Save a Life is an e-learning module consisting of a variety of bite-sized modules on topics such as bleeding, CPR, stroke and choking which aims to teach basic life-saving skills to all.
