About you and what you do – tell us a little about yourself.

I'm an nursery accredited OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ childminder in Cornwall.

Why did you sign up to do the ‘Prepared to Save a Life’ course?

As a registered childminder I am legally required to attend a 12 hour paediatric first aid course. This certificate must be renewed every three years. The ‘Prepared to Save a Life’ course served as a useful refresher.

What do you think about the solution now that you have successfully completed the course?

The short course came in bite sized chunks, enabling the busiest of people to access this in several stages if necessary. The information was clearly presented and easy to understand. Dramatisations were especially effective and quizzes to test your knowledge and reinforce learning served to further boost your confidence.

Given Prepared to Save a Life’s mission to have a life saver on every street corner – an ambitious target of 250,000 learners trained within the first year – how can you help spread the message?

I was so enthused by the ease and accessibility of this course that I encouraged my husband and daughters to complete it as well. Our certificates are proudly displayed in our setting. Parents of mindees have also taken up the challenge and spread the word throughout their schools, colleges and workplaces. I have encouraged all the childminders in my network to take this free course and cannot sing its praises highly enough.
