Our First Responder Officer 'Prepared To Save A Life'

What is your name?

Jason Williams

What Is Your Job Role?

First Responder Officer – HEMS Paramedic

About you and what you do – tell us a little about yourself.

I work for the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust as the First Responder Officer and Flight Paramedic, providing support and management to the voluntary services that work with us across Wales and actively practice as a paramedic in my community.

Why did you sign up to do the ‘Prepared to Save a Life’ course?

As a paramedic you spend a lot of time training to deliver advanced clinical care and interventions in the pre-hospital setting, however, it is always useful to remind yourself of the importance of basic life support and I thought this tool would be a useful revision opportunity for my own practice.

What do you think about the solution now that you have successfully completed the course?

The solution itself is a really easy tool to navigate and packed with useful and relevant information that ranges from the most basic (and most important) of techniques that also supports advanced practice.

Given Prepared to Save a Life’s mission to have a life saver on every street corner – an ambitious target of 250,000 learners trained within the first year – how can you help spread the message?

I intend to share this solution with all our volunteers across Wales, as a revision tool or introduction to basic life support that should be completed and then shared forward.
