Wyrley Birch locals receive online training
People of all ages have been signing up for an e-learning training initiative in Birmingham, it has been observed.
The UK Online learning scheme is being organised at Wyrley Hall by social enterprise Enta and is based around equipping those who register with everyday computer skills, 24dash.com reports.
Mary Longmore, a volunteer from Sutton Coldfield who lent her assistance at an event on Tuesday (February 15th), noted the variety of users that were benefiting from the project.
"There was a real mixture of families and teenagers who came along and it was a real success," she said.
Ms Longmore added memory sticks were awarded as prizes to those who enrolled and that the activities on the day left the organisers "rushed off [their] feet".
The course tutors pupils on abilities ranging from setting up email accounts to paying bills using the internet.
Yesterday, it emerged that the Pertemps People Development Group, in unison with myguide.gov.uk, has set up a learning base in the centre of Cannock, Staffordshire, to help locals learn how to conduct a net-based search for employment.
