The design and development team here at Virtual College head office is always working hard on new modules and tools to improve your e-learning provision, and we also believe in maintaining our courses to make sure they have the most up to date information. Changes in legislation and best practice mean that new and updated courses are released every month, so here at a glance is what has recently been rolled out:
This addition to the People Manager’s Toolkit e-learning suite helps new and inexperienced managers to tackle important and possibly difficult decisions, as well as understand the needs of workers in their team who have families and may require additional attention every now and then.
Safeguarding Children is one of our most successful e-academies with over 300,000 learners to date. The bite sized "Getting it Right for Every Child" course has helped many of them understand what is involved in the model that aims to encourage change in culture, systems and practice across services for children. By updating that course to keep it current, we can be sure safeguarding workers are getting the best online training available to help them with their work.
Another course from the People Managers Toolkit suite: How to Manage Volunteers. The course is aimed at helping new managers through the selection process, develop their understanding of what might motivate voluntary staff and how to make sure all parties involved can come together to meet their goals.
Many people think they know what is meant by equality and diversity, but the reality can be very different to what we think it means. Developed in partnership with the Housing Diversity Network, this short course helps contractors to approach the complexities of the subject with a common sense approach allowing them to respond confidently to everyday situations.
