What does Tech IOSH mean?

TechIOSH refers to a membership category and qualification of the IOSH. A technical member is a member of IOSH who has two years’ full-time or five years’ part-time experience in a professional health and safety position. The technical member is required to join the IOSH Continuing Professional Development programme.

What is COSHH training?

Coshh training refers to courses which educate and train health and safety professionals on COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations. COSHH regulations monitor the safe use of hazardous substances and materials in the workplace.

What does NEBOSH mean?

What qualifications do I need to teach IOSH?

In order to become a registered and approved IOSH trainer, certain requirements based on experience and qualifications must be met by applicants. Trainers must be a technical member of IOSH and have up to date CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

They must also have two years’ experience in face-to-face training and a level 3 adult training qualification on an approved qualifications framework (or have completed the IOSH Train the Trainer course).

Anyone can become an IOSH member, but to become a chartered IOSH member, applicants must continue through the ranks of Associate Member, Technical Member and Graduate Member. Applications to become a chartered member include a peer review interview, an open assessment and an experience assessment.

How long does a health and safety certificate last?

An IOSH health and safety certificate never expires and will last continually. It becomes active on the date it is issued.

What degree do you need to be a safety manager?

No particular degree is required to be a safety manager, but certain degrees can prove to be helpful in obtain a safety manager position.
