What are the Safer Recruitment guidelines?
The guidance from the Department for Education is called Keeping Children Safe in Education which is aimed to offer statutory guidelines for schools and colleges when it comes to safeguarding.
What does Safer recruitment mean?
Safer recruitment means ensuring that the staff and volunteers who are hired to work with children, young people and vulnerable adults have been suitably checked to prevent any harm being done to the people in their care.
General Safeguarding FAQs
What is a safeguarding policy?
A policy put in place to ensure vulnerable people are not abused in any way. It makes it clear what an organisation or group will do to keep children and adults safe. It should include a statement setting out the organisation's commitment to protecting all children and adults in its care.
What is the aim of safeguarding adults?
To protect adults classed as ‘vulnerable’ – this covers people of all ethnicities, genders and religious, and provide them with appropriate care.
