About this free healthcare course

It is important that all professionals working in schools, and other settings where they come into contact with children and young people, are aware of what type 1 diabetes is and how to support those affected.

Virtual College has worked with JDRF* and Children and Young People's National Diabetes Network to create a free course to give professionals a basic understanding of type 1 diabetes. Using a school as the setting, the free course follows a number of students with the autoimmune condition through their daily lives.
