Launched in 2006 we've since grown into a community of practice that counts 72 safeguarding organisations, including LSCBs from across England and Wales, as members. Our ethos of collaborative development has led to a large portfolio of over 40 safeguarding and child protection courses that have been enjoyed by 350,000 learners.
Courses can be purchased directly by individuals (e.g. child minders) as well as organisations. These range from early years settings to councils and Local Safeguarding Children Boards. A membership model is available for any organisation that wants to take advantage of bulk purchasing.
All of our courses are developed in conjunction with Local Safeguarding Children Boards, the statutory bodies tasked with improving outcomes for the children in their areas (who also make up the majority of our membership). This ensures our training always reflects current best practice, guidance and legislation.
The Safeguarding Adults e-Academy works in a similar way to Safeguarding Children, with a focus on helping ‘Adults at Risk’ such as the elderly, infirm or those with mental and physical disabilities that rely on care from other people.
Regular events are held for Safeguarding e-Academy members featuring leading guest speakers such as Sue Woolmore, Ruth Pearson and Sara Swan MBE. Video highlights and exclusive sound bites can be seen on our website.
