The workplace has come a long way over the last 10 years in recognising the importance of employee mental wellbeing. However, many organisations still need to understand why this is relevant and are struggling to address the challenges and how to remove the stigma in the workplace. There are many influencing factors at play, however here are five easy steps you can take to help drive improvements to mental wellbeing in your workplace...
Promoting Positive Mental Health at WorkWe've designed a free and easy to follow framework to help your organisation promote positive mental health at work. The framework shows the different steps organisations, managers and employees should take in order to promote positive mental health within the workplace.
Need some inspiration?
Try to incorporate some wellbeing events at your workplace to help promote a positive attitude to mental health. We recently took part in the Curry and Chaat event in support of the Mental Health Foundation however there are many events you can choose depending on your organisation.
Curry and Chaat
The aim of Curry & Chaat is simple: get together with friends, enjoy a delicious curry and raise money for the Mental Health Foundation. Virtual College took part and we managed to raise over £250 in a matter of hours! In addition to raising money it was a great way to get the whole company involved and helped to promote a positive company culture.
Tea and Talk
If you're looking for ideas to adopt within your organisation why not host your own event. The Tea & Talk is the Mental Health Foundations national fundraising event which takes place on or around World Mental Health Day - 10 October each year. It's a great initiative to get everyone together around some cake and a good natter.
