Cupcake week, like all good things, must come to an end but that doesn’t mean we have to stop celebrating! As the days turn chilly and autumn creeps in, we have a warming recipe to ‘cake’ the edge off.
Patrick Drake, creator of The 60 Second Chef, has devised a recipe for some pitcher-perfect cupcakes made to look and subtly taste like a pint of Guinness.
Featuring a moist chocolate and Guinness cake pint, and a cream cheese frosted head, Patrick’s cupcake recipe will reduce you to cheers!
Don’t like Guinness? Not a problem. If you’re a fan of chocolate you’ll love these cakes – the Guinness just adds a subtle depth of flavour, whilst helping the cakes to stay moist and light. In fact, the cupcakes themselves are so delicious you might struggle to wait to frost them!
A chef by nature, and admittedly not a baker, Patrick’s cupcake recipe is so simple you’ll be able to draught them in no time. In Patrick’s own words, you just need to go ‘beyond your cake-related comfort zone’ and have a go.
Each recipe makes roughly 18 individual cakes – perfect for sharing (or not!) – and Patrick’s even made a 60 second video giving a step-by-step guide of the whole baking process.
