Lifetime Awarding sponsors Virtual College’s new Active Leisure Career VOOC®

Lifetime Awarding is sponsoring ‘Working in the Active Leisure sector’, one of a suite of 10 Career VOOC®s (Vocational Open Online Courses) being developed by Virtual College to help keep careers guidance up to date and relevant for a new generation of digital natives.Each Career VOOC® is designed to provide career seekers with a free comprehensive, unbiased insight into working in a particular sector. Using the latest technology, including a range of multimedia tools, it will provide users with an introduction to key job roles, skills requirements and career progress routes. This particular VOOC® covers careers guidance around the active leisure industry. Key elements of this comprehensive guidance will include fitness instructing, personal training, active leisure and management as well as coaching and sport. On registration, users are allocated a range of Career VOOC®s. They have access to an exciting virtual environment where they can explore career opportunities and what various job roles entail. As a user completes a Career VOOC®, they can indicate their level of interest and access enhanced guidance – virtual careers advisor, further training opportunities, work experience and volunteering ideas. The VOOC® will also signpost local and national providers of skills development routes, including short courses, traineeships, apprenticeships and degrees. Whilst providing access to discounted further development opportunities including CV bolstering e-modules, employability and technical certificate e-learning resources. Lifetime Awarding is an awarding organisation working with education centres & employers to provide industry recognised vocational qualifications. Lifetime Awarding is an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation working with FE Colleges, education providers, & employers to provide a wide range of industry-recognised vocational qualifications.
