About Serco

Serco operate within five different sectors: Justice and Immigration, Defence, Healthcare, Citizen Services and Transport across the world and have approximately 60,000 employees.

Serco have roughly 3,000 learners in total who require training in order to fulfil their job role and ensure Home Office compliance for Immigration contracts. The majority are on their initial training courses, but the training was also rolled out to learners whose qualification had expired.

The Aim

The goal is to develop a diverse and engaging training package that caters to a wide and varied audience. The training should go beyond traditional PowerPoint presentations, offering interactive and dynamic teaching methods that enhance the learning experience. Additionally, it should include opportunities for learners to demonstrate a basic understanding of IT and tablet usage, ensuring they can apply what they've learned in practical, real-world situations.

The courses are easy to navigate and there's a wide range of courses available from the catalogue.

A comprehensive training package was developed and rolled out to approximately 3,000 learners, ensuring broad access and consistent delivery. This included a 'Build Your Own Package' option, offering ready-to-use content tailored to meet the specific needs of the organization. The package featured 30 modules covering essential topics such as safeguarding, health and safety, and business compliance.

To support ease of access and efficient course administration, the training was delivered through our learning management system (LMS), streamlining the user experience for both learners and administrators.

How We Supported Serco

We worked closely with the client to build a tailored package of courses that aligned with their specific needs.

A dedicated account manager was assigned to maintain regular communication, offering detailed guidance on both the course content and the learning management system (LMS).

Throughout the process, our team remained readily available to provide support whenever it was needed, ensuring a smooth and effective training experience.

Overall, it's saved many hours of administration, freed tutors' time to focus on other training and given the students the flexibility to study and work at a time and place that suits them.
