Town offering online training courses

A town has begun offering online training courses through its library system.

According to the Hartford Courant, the Avon facility in Connecticut is giving its users all sorts of e-learning opportunities through its brand new network.

Although people need to either be registered with the library's membership scheme or with the system it is using to provide the distance learning courses, it should provide the chance to learn about a range of subjects through the innovation of technology.

"Courses are available in traditional academic subjects or topics like etiquette, wedding planning and stress management," the publication said, adding that individuals keen to take advantage of the opportunity have six months to complete any course.

However, they are not limited in their choice - they may take up to five different subjects at one time.

Meanwhile, Liverpool John Moore University has organised a forum on e-learning, to consist of seminars on the ins and outs of the topic and a question-and-answer session.
