E-learning Summit approaches

Details of the first official European e-Learning Summit to take place in the UK have been announced.

The event, on November 17th and 18th, will be hosted in Sheffield as part of a partnership between Learning Light, the Sheffield-based company which focuses on promoting the use of e-learning and learning technologies, learndirect - the e-learning provider which is one of the largest contributors to the UK government’s skills targets - and Creativesheffield

Delegates will attend from the private and public sectors and the focus of the exposition is expected to be on the personalisation of online training courses.

"It's important that government decision makers realise the key role that corporate e-learning plays in supporting change and helping to maintain competitive advantage," Learning Light operations director David Patterson.

Meanwhile, Sandy Briden - who enrolled with the Open University in 1985 and has since attained a foundation science degree, an honours BSc in chemistry and a masters in criminology - recently told the Daily Telegraph that e-learning can fit in around a career.
