People in the IT industry should constantly refresh their skills, it has been claimed.
Alex Farrell, managing director of the IT Job Board, said those in the sector need to be prepared to adapt to changing market trends and should work towards gaining new qualifications, which could be achieved via an E-learning course."In spite of the skills shortage, recruiters and businesses will always go for the top talent," he added.
IT professionals cannot afford to "rest on their laurels", as they need to keep on qualifications and obtaining experience is a vital factor, Mr Farrell remarked. And he noted research has proven IT firms want staff to be as skilled as possible, as many will invest less in hardware and more in SaaS technologies.
Earlier this week, HR expert and co-founder of Reabur Ltd Georgina Read claimed individuals who obtain new skills and qualifications have a greater chance of landing a job.
