An online learning initiative entitled Foyle Cloud is helping pupils at three schools use technology to boost their education prospects.
The innovation was launched on Friday (June 17th) and allows pupils to access resources and support from anywhere with an internet connection, reported Derry Today.
St Columb's, Lisneal and St Mary's colleges in Derry can now utilise the e-learning online scheme, which will soon allow students to take subjects not offered by their school - since they will be able to access all they need via the Foyle Cloud.
Speaking to the newspaper, director of online operations at Facebook Colm Long said: "The launch of Foyle Cloud today represents a major first step in positioning schools to take full advantage of the emergent technology that is all around us."
Last week, IT Governance announced it intends to launch an online tool that will allow people to learn more about the requirements and protection offered by the Data Protection Act.
