MP Lee Rowley Joins Prepared to Save a Life Initiative

MP Lee Rowley becomes the first MP fully ‘Prepared to Save A Life’

Following our hugely successful launch of the ‘Prepared to Save A Life’ campaign at the House of Commons on 30 October 2018, we can announce Lee Rowley, MP for North East Derbyshire who pledged to save a life has now been certified as ‘fully prepared to save a life’ following his completion of the course.

With the mission to have a life saver on every street corner, Virtual College teamed up with Community Save a Life Scheme and Bolsover District Council, to revolutionise face-to-face first aid training into an e-learning course available to everyone in the UK for free!

Lee Rowley’s support at the launch has been instrumental in helping raise awareness of the campaign and bringing it to the attention of other Members of Parliament and Ministers of State. The launch saw a further 25 MP’s pledge to ‘save a life’ and promote the course to their constituencies.

‘Providing everyone access to basic lifesaving skills is something everyone will benefit from and it’s a fantastic initiative which I am proud to lend my support to’ said Lee Rowley. Virtual College CEO, Rod Knox said “We are proud to be part of the initiative and use technology to help save lives. We’ve set ourselves a target to train 250,000 learners in the first year of launch and we’ve started with ourselves. Virtual College is now fully prepared with over 90% of our staff having completed the course”.
