NIACE to work with Secretary of State to meet skills shortages

After the recent appointment of Sajid Javid as Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, the National Institute Voice for Lifelong Learning (NIACE) has announced it is particularly keen to work closely with him to help raise the basic levels of skills.

The NIACE recently released a report entitled Ten Policies for Ten People, which propose ten practical policies that the government can and should implement in its first 100 days in parliament.

Each policy works to enhance the lives of ten groups of people who are often excluded or at a disadvantage in life and work settings.

The NIACE believes the policies will address the skills gap faced by the UK and deliver sustainable growth to help unveil the talents of people in society.

Drawing on the policies in the report, NIACE want to support Mr Javid in order to improve the quality and quantity of apprenticeships, deliver social mobility and develop relationships with businesses and organisations to create better skills outcomes.
