The East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust are first to reach gold training standard

The East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust are the first to be presented with a Gold Certificate of Achievement by Virtual College in recognition of the high level of engagement achieved by their staff in National Patient Safety Suite learning.

Developed by Virtual College in partnership with NHS England, the National Patient Safety Suite is currently comprised of 14 patient safety e-learning courses, including Safe Use of Insulin, and has over 280,000 registered users to date. Ninety-six per cent of learners would recommend these courses to a colleague.

“We have developed the courses with clinical experts and continue to add new topics to meet the consistently high level of demand for patient safety training, “said Sue Bradbury, Healthcare Academy Manager from Virtual College.

“It is rewarding to know that these courses are helping to minimise avoidable harm. The East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is to be congratulated on their commitment to patient safety training.”

Over 100 community, acute, mental health trusts, CCGs, universities and private healthcare organisations are already subscribed to the suite. Subscription provides 12 months unlimited training access for staff across all 14 courses and as the subscription fees are reinvested, additional courses on patient safety topics will continue to be added to the suite.

Nick Carver, Chief Executive of The East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, commented:  “We encourage staff to keep up to date with their patient safety training and it is great for the Trust to be recognised as the first to reach this high level of learner engagement.”

“The flexibility of Virtual College’s online learning is ideally suited to our 24/7 working environment.”
