Following the official launch of our ‘Prepared to Save A Life’ initiative the team decided to roll out the first pilot in our home town of Ilkley – with the aim to make Ilkley the first town fully prepared to save a life.
So far, we’ve got 13 Ilkley businesses pledged and on board, with more getting in touch to pledge their organisations. The Ilkley Moor Vaults have shown great support for the campaign since it’s launch and we’re happy to announce they are now fully prepared!
Jo Zezulka, manager at pub and restaurant Ilkley Moor Vaults, said “We have trialled the online training tool and it’s been an invaluable resource for our staff who already feel empowered," she added. "I would urge all businesses in Ilkley and beyond to pledge to undertake the training and ensure their staff are equipped to act in an emergency and are prepared to save a life.”
Jo got on board because she felt it was important to get local people trained in life saving skills – many of us when faced with such situations do not know how to react, by completing the Prepared to Save A Life course you are empowering yourself and your staff to learn a vital skill.
Following her pledge Jo and the entire team at the Vaults completed the short course to become fully prepared and are helping to urge other businesses in the local area to join the campaign.
If you would like to get on board and join the cause, click to pledge as an individual or on behalf of your organisation. We have a target set for 250 lifesavers trained in the Ilkley area, please help us reach that!
