Virtual College goes crazy for Children in Need

Shoppers on the main high street in Ilkley on Friday’s Children in Need day will have been astounded to see the strangest conga ever!

A bizarre collection of characters, ranging from Thunderbirds to Harry Potter, could be seen cavorting through the streets of Ilkley!

Organised by Virtual College in support of Children in Need, over 100 members of staff joined in the fun by donning fancy dress to conga through the streets of Ilkley, led by Virtual College’s CEO, Rod Knox.

The event raised £300 for Children in Need.

Based in Ilkley, Virtual College has been a training provider to the safeguarding sector for over 10 years. Working alongside safeguarding boards, Virtual College has delivered safeguarding and child protection training to more than one million people.

Its e-learning services are also used extensively by the education sector, including training staff in child protection and safeguarding.

To help tackle sensitive topics, such as child sexual exploitation and female genital mutilation, Virtual College has conducted a number of successful communications projects which are helping to raise awareness.

As leaders in education on safeguarding children, Virtual College is an active supporter a number of children’s charities. Since 2008, it has given over £270,000 to children’s charities worldwide, in both smaller and larger donations.
