Virtual College’s John Hinchliffe voted onto board of eLN

John Hinchliffe, Virtual College’s Instructional Design Manager, has been voted onto the eLearning Network’s (eLN) board of directors.

John was recently put up for public election and voted in by the community of nearly 3000 members.

The eLearning Network (eLN) is a non-profit, Community Interest Company run by the eLearning community for the learning community.

It is the number one source for guidance on best practice and future trends in technology-based learning and development at work and independently judges the Learning Technologies Awards.

John will help eLN in their mission to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen the Learning Technology community.

The eLN believes that technology is at the heart of learning and development’s future and that it is already a fundamental part of the learning and development toolkit. Organisations that are not already utilising technology are missing a key tool to support organisational learning. When deployed correctly, learning technology is fundamental to organisational performance.

The eLN strives to:

  • Make technology easier to understand
  • Share knowledge and experience
  • Provide access to best practice information
  • Drive quality and innovation
  • Provide opportunities to collaborate and share knowledge

Hannah Brindle, Managing Director of Virtual College, commented: “I am sure that John’s skills and experience will enable him to make a significant contribution to the eLearning Network.

“In his role at Virtual College, he is regularly challenged to find solutions for diverse and complex problems, and he has been instrumental in many of Virtual College’s most innovative projects.”

John recently took part in a video interview with the Learning & Performance Institute as part of their L&D Question Time on the run up to the Learning Awards, which John is a finalist for in the Learning Professional of the Year category. It can be viewed here.
