Our Level 2 Food Hygiene and COVID-19 training package consists of two important courses – Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene and COVID-19 Training.
We’ve brought these two online courses together to ensure you and your staff know how to keep your food business safe in these uncertain and challenging times.
Our Level 2 Food course is one of our most-popular courses. Accredited by City and Guilds, it provides food handlers with all the information they need to be able to carry out their roles safely, ranging from how to clean and disinfect equipment, safely store and prepare food, and control common pests.
On completion, you will know all you need to be compliant and follow your legal obligations.
The following lessons are covered:
Our COVID-19 course will provide you with general information you need to know about COVID-19 and how it may affect business working practices.
Our COVID-19 course is structured as follows:
We pride our courses on being engaging and interactive. These two courses are no different – there are quizzes and challenges found throughout both, helping to ensure that the knowledge is learnt, understood and retained.
The Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene course is accredited by City and Guilds and the certificate, awarded upon successful completion of this course, includes their logo.
For the average learner, this pakage will take approximately 3-4 hours to complete.
Because it’s an e-learning course, you can complete this training in convenient stages and spend as long as you like on each section.
The system will record your progress throughout and you are encouraged to complete each lesson at your own pace.
This food safety and hygiene course is aimed at anyone working in a role that involves contact with food, or anyone responsible for managing staff in these roles. The course can be used either as Induction, Awareness, Refresher or Foundation Training, making it a highly flexible choice.
The COVID-19 Training Course is aimed at anyone who requires an overview of the essential information of COVID-19 and how this could affect working practices.
The package is perfect for those working with or handling food to ensure their knowledge on the lastest COVID-19 guidance is followed.

At the end of the Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene course, you will need to complete a test that consists of 30 multiple choice questions. Learners are required to achieve a 75% pass mark, and - if necessary - may attempt the test six times at no extra cost. If learners do not achieve the 75% pass mark, further attempts may be given by contacting our support team.
Upon completing the courses, learners will be able to download digital certificates from Virtual College.
If you’re working in the hospitality or service industry, you will need to comply with the latest food and hygiene regulations. This online course consists of a series of pages in which an instructor will talk learners through the lesson material. Pages may include supporting pictures, graphs, animation or extra sounds to help with the learning where appropriate. Some lessons will include challenges/quizzes to help learners stay engaged and interested in the material. Lessons can be taken in any order and each lesson may be paused and resumed at any stage.
The course is self-paced so learners decide how fast or slow the training goes. There is no deadline for completion but some of our courses have a test at the end to check that learners have understood the material. If the course has a test at the end then learners are required to achieve a 75% pass mark to successfully complete the course. Once learners have passed the test they are awarded a certificate, which can either be downloaded digitally or sent as a physically copy if this option was chosen when purchasing the course.
Upon completion of any of our courses, learners will be able to download a digital certificate from Virtual College and will include the accrediting bodies logo where applicable.
If you have bought the posted certificate option (available on select courses), a high quality, seal embossed, certificate will be sent out by first class post at the beginning of the following working week.
