Description

When working alongside vulnerable people and dealing with a safeguarding incident, it’s essential to follow the necessary procedure when dealing with a safeguarding incident. From victim confidentiality to appropriate reporting of neglect and abuse concerns, a safeguarding Level 1 course will help you understand your responsibilities when caring for vulnerable individuals. Not only will you be able to safeguard those you are directly responsible for, but you’ll also be able to care for anyone else you come into contact with while carrying out your work duties.

By the end of our Level 1 Safeguarding training course, you will gain a clearer understanding of how to safeguard children, young people, and adults at risk effectively within your responsibilities. Our course provides an introduction to the concepts of safeguarding and the basics of looking after vulnerable people, covering all the fundamental processes you need to follow to resolve your first safeguarding case.

Who needs safeguarding training?

For basic safeguarding procedures and child protection, Level 1 Safeguarding courses are a fast way to ensure compliance and learn the fundamentals. It’s a legal requirement for anyone who works with vulnerable children, young people, or adults to have an up-to-date understanding of safeguarding practices and legislation. If you work alongside people at risk, you’ll need at least a safeguarding Level 1 training course to prove you can act on safety and welfare concerns proactively and protect vulnerable people from harm.

What level of safeguarding training do I need?

Level 1 safeguarding training is the most fundamental level of training you can receive, with other courses available for more advanced cases of abuse and neglect. To learn more about the different courses on offer, read our safeguarding training level guide for an explanation of what each level entails.
