  • Adopt a persistent and proactive strategy for working with families, but to also understand when you should and shouldn’t be persistent.
  • Understand the importance of information sharing, and what is involved in a whole family support plan.
  • Approach the offer of practical ‘hands-on’ support and understand that an initial focus on practical help for the family is a vital step in building relationships.


The content of this course is certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.


Approximately 45 minutes to one hour. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly you can study and absorb the material. You can proceed as quickly or slowly as you like.

Target audience

This course is aimed at all social care services and multi-agencies including adult social care, mental health services, voluntary services, child social care, community safety, youth offending or police and probation.

Test and certificate

The end of course test consists of 15 multiple choice questions. Learners are required to achieve a 75% pass mark, and, if necessary, may attempt the test three times at no extra cost.

If learners do not achieve the 75% pass mark, further attempts may be given by contacting our support team.

Learners will be able to download a digital certificate on completion. This can be printed, and we suggest you keep it for your records.
