Description
This training will look at how to balance addressing the issue of self-neglect with an individual’s right to private life and health and how to make safe decisions.
Self-neglect is a problem in itself and can often be a symptom of other underlying problems. This course will enable you to identify it and react appropriately.
Self-neglect is difficult to detect due to its multi-dimensional character; it is a complex combination of physical, mental, psychological, social and environmental causes. Being able to spot the signs and symptoms of self-neglect is crucial for anyone who works with vulnerable adults.
The topics covered in this course include:
- The possible causes of self-neglect, whether deliberate or unintentional
- The connection between mental health and self-neglect
- Signs of self-neglect
- How to react upon recognising signs of self-neglect
This course uses case studies and interactive scenarios, and challenges to help test the learner's knowledge and ability.

Easy to use, comprehensive course.
Not the cheapest course on line for this qualification but I felt the best overall. I don't like on line learning but this course was easy to use. Followed a logical sequence and more importantly there were no crashes or other IT problems. I'd use them again.
