Learner Experience Coordinator

Salary: Competitive salary

Location: Ilkley, West Yorkshire (Flexible if required - scope for remote base)

Overall Aim of the Role:

To deliver projects to time, quality and budget. To live and breathe VC learner centric philosophy by delivering a market leading learner experience.

Coordinating and leading the production of e-learning content (HTML/SCORM courses, videos, learning modules, activities, etc.)

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

This role will suit a self-starter with a growth mindset, who can multitask and isn’t afraid of getting stuck into projects:

Teamwork

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Virtual College/Netex
  • Attending and actively contributing to internal and external meetings as required
  • Work closely with the Production Operations Manager to implement strategic targets and continuous improvement

Communication

  • Excellent communication skills are a must as this role requires multiple communication channels with both internal teams and external subcontractors
  • Proficient in the use of a variety of communication tools
  • Proactive in trialling new communication tools

Coordination

  • Being able to work on multiple projects and juggle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Monitoring and control of production progress: scope, schedule, production milestones and quality
  • Being able to identify priorities and manage own time to manage these priorities effectively
  • Coordinating the work of external subcontractors (including IDs/graphic designers/elearning agencies/QA) within time, quality and budget
  • Risk control and implementation of the necessary actions to mitigate them, as well as escalation of incidents and problems that arise to the PM
  • Supporting the team to identify when additional resource is required and identifying the best subcontractor for the job
  • Completing appropriate logging and tracking documents and processes as required
  • Supporting the team with proofreading/quality checks/testing checks where required
  • Investigating queries and resolving issues following feedback from colleagues and customers

Reporting

  • Proactive in the collection, reporting and use of data in communication, decision making and recommendations to colleagues and customers
  • Coordinating narration production with external narrators to agreed standards and within agreed timescales
  • Maintaining and developing the narration repository
  • Completing narration checks to agreed standards and within agreed timescales

Continuous improvement

  • Contributing towards analysis of common amends, fault patterns and general product issues
  • Pro-actively identifying trends of both good and bad practice, ensuring that this is recorded and escalated appropriately
  • Taking responsibility for solving problems and supporting colleagues
  • Taking responsibility for personal and professional training and development
  • Responsible for horizon scanning and feeding ideas into the Learning Solutions Studio

IT/Software

  • Using Microsoft Office products to a proficient level
  • Using LMS/Enable to a proficient level
  • Using authoring tools as required
  • Using Kanbanize/spreadsheets to support with the production management of projects

To work within ISO frameworks and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Hours of work covering 37.5 hours (Monday to Friday) including flexible working
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays increasing to 28 over 3 years (a day per year)
