Description
Approximately 5,000 people are injured every year in the UK from using abrasive wheels. No one ever thinks it will be their accident — until it is.
Abrasive wheels come in many forms: from angle grinders and pipe cutters, to buffers and sanders. Each one spins a potentially damaging surface at a high speed – so it’s no wonder they can cause harm. It’s essential to use power tools with abrasive wheels carefully and to look after them properly too. So if you want to avoid a trip to A&E, this abrasive wheels training course will help.
The Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) requires employers to ensure the safety of their employees, especially when the tools they use are potential hazards. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (1998) (PUWER) also ensure that employers are doing everything they can to prevent accidents caused by the equipment they’re required to use.
This online Abrasive Wheels course helps anyone who uses an abrasive wheel at work to do so safely. You’ll find out about the different safety measures that you can take, the standardised safety features of abrasive wheels, and more top tips to preventing an accident.
