Description
The prevalence of FGM, abuse linked to faith or belief, and forced marriage is a very serious problem, and anyone who works with vulnerable adults, children, and young people needs to be aware of its indicators and consequences.
This FGM training course helps learners understand these issues, identify vulnerable individuals, and report suspected abuse, using videos and real-life scenarios. It’s part of our safeguarding training offering and is a great follow-on course for those who have completed their Safeguarding Everyone training.
The course will take approximately 3-4 hours to complete, depending on the speed at which you prefer to work through the material. Your progress will be saved automatically, which means you can pause and come back at any time.
At the end of the course, learners will need to complete a short multiple-choice test. Upon successful completion of the test, you will be able to download a CPD-certified FGM training certificate that can be printed and kept for your records.
Course structure
This online course is split into four modules to help you understand the following topics:
- Abuse linked to faith or beliefs
- Forced marriage
- 'Honour'-based abuse
- FGM and breast flattening
Why take this training course?
A number of high-profile businesses and organisations have used our online FGM training to help combat this serious safeguarding issue. The course uses immersive real-world scenarios to help learners absorb more information and enable them to apply the learning in their work.
We’ve included mini challenges within each section of this course to test the knowledge gained, as well as links to relevant agencies and organisations which can supply more information if learners want to further develop their knowledge once their training is complete.
This FGM training course is suitable for individuals in a range of roles which include working regularly with vulnerable adults or children.
Accreditation
The content of this course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.
Course duration
Approximately three to four hours. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly learners can study and absorb the material. Learners can proceed as quickly or slowly as they like as your progress is automatically saved throughout.
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course.
Test and certificate
The end of course test consists of 15 multiple choice questions. Learners are required to achieve a 75% pass mark, and, if necessary, may attempt the test six times at no extra cost.
If learners do not achieve the 75% pass mark, further attempts may be given by contacting our support team.
