This 17th to 18th Edition Bridging E-learning course has been developed in partnership with NICEIC to provide a cost-effective way to update your knowledge in order to sit your City & Guilds 2382 examination (included in price of training).

This 18th Edition update course aligns with the requirements of BS 7671:2018‘ Requirements for Electrical Installations - IET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition’ including the changes brought about by the release of Amendment 2:2022.

What does this 18th Edition update course cover?

This 17th to 18th Edition course will provide an overview of the main changes introduced since BS 7671:2008 amendment 3:2015 and includes the latest amendments to BS 7671:2018, including the updated requirements relating to Amendment 1:2020 and Amendment 2:2022.

This course is designed to assist in better navigation of BS 7671 and to help prepare delegates for success with the 18th Edition City & Guilds 2382 examination. This examination is the same as for those attending a full training course, therefore a thorough understanding of BS 7671 is required.

Work areas

The scope of BS 7671:2018 covers permanent and temporary installations in residential, commercial, public and industrial premises. It also includes requirements relating to special locations as well as considerations for energy efficiency.

Certification

On completion of this 18th Edition update course, you will be able to print a certificate to demonstrate you have completed the learning.

Exam

This course includes 1 attempt at the City & Guilds 2382 2-hour examination. 

Duration

10 to 12 study hours to complete. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly learners can study and absorb the material.

Target Audience

This course is particularly appropriate for those who design, install, commission, or maintain low-voltage electrical installations and who wish to update their qualification to the latest version offered by City & Guilds.

However, due to the limited nature of the content covered by this course, entry is only available to those who have successfully completed a qualification relating to BS 7671:2008 (17th Edition). Our booking process may require confirmation of successful achievement of such qualification.

Entry is only available to those who have successfully completed a qualification relating to BS 7671:2008 (17th Edition).

What happens after completion of the course?

On completion of these modules, learners will need to book their exam with NICEIC to receive their accreditation.

Examination and Qualification Details

This 18th Edition update course aligns to the City & Guilds 2382 qualification, registration and entry for the related examination is included, with attendance at the examination taking place at the end of the tuition.

The 2-hour examination comprises a single mandatory unit: ‘Understand the requirements of electrical installations BS 7671 (2018)’ and contains 60 multiple-choice questions.
