Course Structure
Every individual living in the UK has a right to be respected, listened to and to make choices. The training starts by explaining what autonomy is, the benefits it brings to the workplace and why it is important you know and understand how to support people’s autonomy. It also looks at what decisions you may need to make, the legal framework, legislations and policy in the UK, primary legislation, the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, who can carry out a mental capacity assessment, in which instances the Mental Capacity Act may not apply to people aged 16-17 and the code of practice.
