As a project manager, you’ll guide your projects through clear planning, disciplined execution, and thoughtful closure. But how do we apply these stages practically? This course will help you build the skills and confidence to make each stage work for you.
Each stage of a project builds on the last. As you progress through this course, you’ll see how mastering each stage and leading with confidence secures your project’s success and drives long-term achievements for your organisation.
The course describes the definition of a project plan and reviews the different types of plan, according to the size and type of organisation or project.
The course goes on to describe the common elements contained in each plan and outlines the seven stages required to define every project and produce the project plan.
What should you include in a project plan? Each part of the plan is carefully described with examples.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, you'll be able to:
- Identify what information goes into a project plan and the appropriate level of content for each section
- Evaluate potential risks and practise creating contingency plans by analysing common project challenges and their solutions
- Recognise the importance of monitoring progress, identifying deviations from the plan, and taking corrective action to ensure successful project delivery
- Identify key decision-making tools and communication strategies for staying in control and managing project changes effectively
- Identify the essential steps for closing a project, including reviewing deliverables, archiving documentation, and capturing lessons learnt
