Why take this First Aid and Fire Safety Training?
A basic understanding of first aid will help learners know what to do if they are first on the scene of an accident, including how to assess the situation as a potential danger zone and how to assess the condition of a casualty.
Employers are legally required by Fire Safety Regulations (The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) to provide information, instruction and training to employees about fire precautions in the workplace.
First Aid e-learning content
After taking the First Aid Primary Survey course, learners will:
- Know what to do if you are first on the scene of an accident

Accreditation
The content of this first aid and fire safety training is RoSPA assured and has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.
Duration
The first aid and fire safety training courses usually take between 30-45 minutes each to complete, depending on the speed of learning. Learners do not have to complete all the training in one session as progress is recorded throughout and the training can be paused and resumed in our learning management system at any time.
Target audience
This fire safety and first aid training is aimed primarily at businesses who want to train their staff in fire safety procedures in the workplace and provide them a basic understanding of first aid principles.
Please note that the first aid training will not make your staff qualified first aiders. In order for someone to become a qualified first aider, further training that includes at least 18 training and assessment contact hours is required. More information on the legal duties of an employer can be found at: http://www.hse.gov.uk/firstaid/legislation.htm
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for taking this fire safety and first aid training.
Tests and certificates
The fire and first aid course tests each consist of multiple choice questions. Learners are required to achieve an 80% pass mark, and, if necessary, may attempt the test as many times as is needed.
Learners will be able to download a digital certificate on completion of each course. This can be printed, and we suggest you keep it for your records.
